Create public art in Norfolk, VA! BUDGET: $80,000

Deadline: March 9th, 2pm

The Norfolk Public Art Commission and the Munson Park Planning Committee seek to commission an artist to design and create strong, bright, fun artwork that represents children, families, community, and the people that live in Park Place. Artwork should be thought-provoking and inspire viewers of all ages: children, teenagers, and adults. Artists should be willing to work with the neighborhood and may incorporate ideas and actual pieces of residents’ artwork directly into the final piece.
Munson Park is located in the diverse socio-economic neighborhood of Park Place. It’s standing as a historic neighborhood is reflected in the architecture of the houses, including Queen Anne and Shingle style homes. The park is being renovated to include new landscaping, a community garden, new backboards, paving of a small basketball court, and state-of-the-art playground equipment designed for children ages 5-12, including those with special needs.
