SUMMARY:Offsite Gallery opening “What is Time” by Glennis Lofland
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we welcome local photographer Glennis Lofland for her solo exhibition at our Offsite Gallery on the 2nd level of MacArthur Center. On view every day through March 6\, 2026. Free and open to the public on the 2nd level of MacArthur Center. \n“What is time?” \nIn 2024\, Norfolk based photographer Glennis Lofland took a picture from the same location every day\, for 30 days each season with the intention of engaging in nature without the constraints of time. The result is a visual representation of our physical reality that invites the viewer to slow down and embrace each changing moment. \nTime governs our lives\, yet time itself is merely an illusion–a concept we have constructed. While it is most often why we feel rushed\, and what we never seem to have enough of\, Glennis invites the viewer to consider the opposite\, that time is never ending.

SUMMARY:A solo painting exhibition by Norfolk\, VA based mural artist\, David Freeman
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we welcome Norfolk\, Virginia based artist\, David Freeman for his solo exhibition at our Offsite Gallery at MacArthur Center.\nINVITE A FRIEND. \nDavid Freeman has a desire “that burns inside my soul to share my personal ideas of beauty to the world through positive illustrations that represent peace\, hope and joy.” Freeman aims to create art for all and hopes to unify viewers of all nationalities and backgrounds while improving society from an artistic point of view. The ideal of this philosophy motivates him to create mixed media paintings and murals using a unique\, surreal method that incorporates a bit of abstraction. \nFreeman began his artistic journey as a child\, drawing comic book characters and landscapes. He attended the Art Institute of Dallas where he discovered a love for cubist and expressionist art. Freeman has created murals at Virginia Wesleyan University\, Lynnhaven Elementary\, the Virginia Beach African American Cultural Center\, the VIBE District and more. He was selected to exhibit at the Jamestown Museum in 2024 and has been invited to share his art in several local galleries in the Hampton Roads area. \nOn view through May 1\, 2026. Free and open to the public every day\, 10am-7pm Monday-Thursday\, Friday and Saturday\, until 8pm and Sunday 12-6pm.
