Meet Norfolk Arts grantee, the Shark City Drum & Dance Corp.!

Shark City’s youngest drummer is 3, their oldest is 82. They have programs for all ages and abilities.

Shark City Drum and Dance Corps gives kids a positive way to spend their time, mentoring and empowering them through precision drumming. Lead by executive director, Frederick Dixon, the organization has grown the performing arts group from humble beginnings into a super beat making machine, winning accolades at drum competitions and sending many of their members to college on music scholarships.

St. Paul’s Cultural Trail Artist Roster

The St. Paul’s Art Planning Committee seeks to create a pre-qualified list of artists/artist teams to create large-scale, place-making experiences and site-responsive public art as part of the new St. Paul’s Transformation Project over the next two years. Artists 18 years or older of minority populations and traditionally underrepresented populations are particularly encouraged to apply.
