SUMMARY:Free Kirtan event at the Offsite Gallery\, MacArthur Center
DESCRIPTION:All are invited to join current exhibiting artists\, Kim McCoy and Neleh Poletsky’s band\, PranaMuktiBhakti to experience the uplifting energy of kirtan — a heart-opening practice of call-and-response chanting rooted in Bhakti Yoga (the yoga of devotion). \nThrough singing together\, Kim\, Neleh and band member\, Liz Sanderson\, create a sense of connection\, community\, and shared presence. Kirtan offers a space to quiet the mind and to raise your collective vibration. No musical experience is needed — just bring your voice\, curiosity\, and an open heart! \nAbout the Musicians: PranaMuktiBhakti is based out of Hampton Roads\, Virginia and has been offering kirtan within their community and beyond since 2015. All three members of the band take turns leading chants while the others help lead the response and play instruments. Kim McCoy plays bass\, harmonium and ambient sound instruments. Liz Sanderson plays hand drums\, harmonium and rhythm instruments. Neleh Poletsky plays ukulele\, harmonium and rhythm instruments. Together they create a unique sound that inspires Divine connection and praise! \nPranaMuktiBhakti music albums are available on Spotify\, YouTube and Apple Music to enjoy! \nThe artwork of Kim McCoy and Neleh Poletsky pictured below will be on display as part of “When There Are Nine” through June 26\, 2026. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nInstagram: @pranamuktibhakti\nFacebook: Pranamuktibhakti

SUMMARY:A solo painting exhibition by Norfolk\, VA based mural artist\, David Freeman
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we welcome Norfolk\, Virginia based artist\, David Freeman for his solo exhibition at our Offsite Gallery at MacArthur Center.\nINVITE A FRIEND. \nDavid Freeman has a desire “that burns inside my soul to share my personal ideas of beauty to the world through positive illustrations that represent peace\, hope and joy.” Freeman aims to create art for all and hopes to unify viewers of all nationalities and backgrounds while improving society from an artistic point of view. The ideal of this philosophy motivates him to create mixed media paintings and murals using a unique\, surreal method that incorporates a bit of abstraction. \nFreeman began his artistic journey as a child\, drawing comic book characters and landscapes. He attended the Art Institute of Dallas where he discovered a love for cubist and expressionist art. Freeman has created murals at Virginia Wesleyan University\, Lynnhaven Elementary\, the Virginia Beach African American Cultural Center\, the VIBE District and more. He was selected to exhibit at the Jamestown Museum in 2024 and has been invited to share his art in several local galleries in the Hampton Roads area. \nOn view through May 1\, 2026. Free and open to the public every day\, 10am-7pm Monday-Thursday\, Friday and Saturday\, until 8pm and Sunday 12-6pm.
