Norfolk Arts awards grants to not-for-profit organizations that benefit the citizens of Norfolk.

Since 1978 the Norfolk Arts Commission has worked to create a dynamic and lively cultural community. The Commission is made up of volunteer members appointed by the City Council. Grant-supported programs reach into every neighborhood and give all citizens the opportunity to enjoy the finest arts Norfolk has to offer.

Grant applications for activities taking place between September 1, 2024, and August 31, 2025 are now available. The Norfolk Arts Commission accepts grant applications online through eCivis. Submit your application by clicking the button below.

Grants can be for general operating support or for specific projects.
Organizations may apply for either general operating support or project support, but not both.
Norfolk Arts grants are supported by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
