Public Art Program
Established in 2006, Norfolk Arts seeks to create a rich, diverse environment that reflects, celebrates & invites all to experience the arts. We strive to unite, energize, prompt dialogue, & inspire the unique character of Norfolk.

No other city in Virginia, & few of its size, offer the level of arts & cultural programming Norfolk enjoys. The city’s support of the arts is
unrivaled in the region.
Offsite Gallery at MacArthur Center
Norfolk Arts manages the Offsite Gallery located on the 2nd floor of MacArthur Center, Suite #287. Exhibitions rotate every 6-8 weeks. We are currently programmed through 2022.
Norfolk Arts Commission
The Norfolk Arts Commission establishes evaluation criteria for funding grant requests, artist selections, & fair and open review processes.
Attention creative individuals/businesses/schools and organizations! This is an opportunity to bring your community engagement idea to life. From planting trees to teaching crochet to playing chess or planning your next neighborhood art meet up or event in Norfolk, VA, let your imagination run wild and present your idea for a chance to partner with us.
Join us as we welcome Portsmouth, Virginia Senior Supervisor of Art, April Taylor-Martin for her solo exhibition at our Norfolk Arts, Offsite Gallery May 20, 2022. An opening reception is planned for 5-7pm. Her solo exhibition will be on view every day, through July 1, 2022 on the 2nd level of MacArthur Center in downtown Norfolk, VA. Free and open to the public.

The arts are not just for entertainment. It is proven that exposure to art and participating in creative activities are beneficial to our mental health. Norfolk Arts grantees provide many ways to experience the arts and more throughout Mental Health Awareness Month and the year. You’ll find free events both in-person and online.
