“My work explores transformation, protection, and liberation through symbolic storytelling. Across painting and mixed media, I weave together personal memory, cultural iconography, and intuitive symbolism to create portraits that feel both intimate and mythic. In these three works, recurring motifs; birds, butterflies, serpents, hearts, form a visual language about survival and becoming. The blue bird in flight speaks to freedom and renewal, its movement surrounded by butterflies, symbols of fragile yet enduring transformation. The portrait of a young girl crowned with armor and tethered to a balloon heart reflects the resilience of innocence and the ways we guard our softness in a hard world. The snake-wrapped woman, both vulnerable and commanding, embodies rebirth, boundaries, and the strength found in being uncontainable. My palette moves between vibrancy and restraint, fiery reds, deep blacks, delicate greys, mirroring the tension between danger and beauty, fragility and endurance. I am interested in creating works that invite viewers to see both the surface beauty and the layered codes underneath: a reminder that survival and transformation are rarely linear, and that tenderness itself can be radical.Through these pieces, I assert that art is both a shield and a mirror: it protects, it transforms, and it reflects the truths we carry.”
