“I am a Painter, Photographer & Potter based in Chesapeake, Virginia. I work with painting, pottery, and photography, exploring culture, emotions, history, and abstraction. My creative journey began back in 1980 with photography. I’ve always looked at the world differently, but that perspective really deepened when I enlisted in the Army and traveled extensively. I later earned an AAS in Graphic Arts with a minor in Photography and developed a strong love for black-andwhite photography. My work is often described as truth-telling, thought-provoking, colorful abstract, and mixed media. I draw inspiration from Black history, movements, nature, and even my favorite colors. Through paint and clay, I aim to bring these elements together in pieces that speak to the past and resonate with the present.”
