Black Voices & Visions at The Gallery at the Attucks through 04/03/26
“I’m a 24-year-old Black woman and visual artist. My work is shaped by my experiences growing up and living as a Black woman in America navigating identity, culture, beauty, and the weight of history. I explore themes that feel personal but also collective, using different materials and methods depending on what I’m trying to say.
I earned my BFA from VCU arts and I’m currently working toward my MFA in Visual Arts at Norfolk State University. A lot of what I make comes from a place of reflection, trying to make sense of my place in the world, and how I’ve been seen or unseen in it. My work is emotional, sometimes layered, sometimes raw. I hope it speaks to people who’ve felt invisible or misunderstood and maybe helps them feel a little more seen.”
