JAZZ GOT LOOSE Featured artist October 2026 The Gallery at the Attucks
“My work sits at the intersection of figuration and narrative — I’m drawn to the human body in motion, in performance, and in quiet moments of connection. As a figurative oil painter and illustrator working under R.L. Tucker Fine Art, I draw on a background that spans the military, behavioral counseling, and technology, which shapes an interest in how people hold themselves under pressure, in ritual, and in community. My practice includes both traditional oil painting and illustration/comics work, often exploring themes of performance, family, and cultural memory — including my own Chickahominy and Black American heritage. I’m currently pursuing a degree in Psychology, which increasingly informs how I think about gesture, expression, and the inner life of a figure on the page or canvas.”

Mixed-media illustration of a vocalist and small ensemble mid-performance. Loose linework and a muted blue-gold palette capture the intimacy and energy of a live musical setting.
