Dañetta Evans holds a M.F.A .and M.A. in Visual Studies from Norfolk State University, a B.A. in Public Relations and Marketing from Alabama State University, and an A.A. in Graphic Design from the Art Institue of Tennessee-Nashville. She is currently an adjunct at Tidewater Community College where she teaches the principle of graphic design and creative conception.
Along with her teaching and art practice, she has given a number of lectures and workshops advocating for STEAM vs STEM education at the James Wise Gallery, for Norfolk Public School art teachers, and the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Virginia.
In January of 2021, to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., she hosted a virtual art talk on how art can be used to explore topics of identity and community development.
Her work has been shown at the Chrysler Museum, the Hermitage Museum and Garden, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, the Slover Library, and the d’Art Center.
