A professional public artist for 24 years, Ball strives to create impactful large-scale murals and mosaics as well as personal fine art works that tell the story of community heroes, activists and every day people.

Moses received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2000 at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Ball is a graduate of the Los Angeles County High School For the Arts.

Moses writes, “I create images which are themed around community and diversity, highlighting the heroism and power of those who are ignored or marginalized. I am currently wrapping up creation of the artwork for the LA Metro UCLA Purple D Line station featuring 60 portraits of UCLA Olympians. I have just completed a mural for the California Science Center, featuring children and youth engaged in sports. I worked with the Metro and LA Commons to create the Heart of Hyde Park Mural on US Bank at Crenshaw Blvd and Slauson Ave. This mural is of particular importance to South LA as it depicts community activists, local business owners as well as neighborhood youth.

I believe that my heart and desire to listen to the community will inform the artwork that I will create in Norfolk, VA to become something we can all be proud of, as well as something impactful and inspirational. I believe my experience creating steel figures and working with laser cut steel, welding, painting and mosaic and relief techniques will give me multiple ways to create impactful art for the Barraud Park environment.”
