“I am a visual artist and cultural preservation strategist whose public art practice is rooted in preservation, representation, and legacy. My work begins with people. Before designing, I immerse myself in communities—listening to histories and lived experiences to ensure my work reflects a neighborhood’s true identity. I view public art as a civic responsibility: a tool to honor what exists and transform shared spaces into sites of pride and belonging.
I am deeply committed to protecting individual histories that often go unseen in changing urban environments. Through vibrant color, symbolism, and narrative, I create human-centered imagery that allows residents to feel seen. My work ranging from walls to canvas frequently features children, nature, and spiritual elements to speak to growth and hope.
My authority stems from over a decade of leadership helping shape Virginia’s NEON and ViBe Creative Districts. Having served on public art committees and boards, I bring a unique dual perspective as both a creator and a decision-maker. This experience allows me to navigate the complexities of developing impactful, sustainable art alongside cities and stakeholders.
Growing up in and working for diverse communities informs my focus on cultural pride and empowering representation for young people. Whether leading solo projects or collaborating with artists, my practice is focused on legacy: honoring the past, resonating in the present, and leaving behind a meaningful marker of collective memory for the future.”
