“As a Black minimalist photographer, my work is rooted in stillness and observation. I am drawn to soft light, shifting clouds, and in-between moments that often go unnoticed. These details hold meaning for me-they reflect resilience, presence, and imagination.
In my practice, minimalism is not about emptiness but about focus. By stripping away distraction, I create space for emotion, reflection, and memory to emerge. Each image is intentional, shaped by natural light and a slower of rhythm of seeing.
I grew up in Hampton Roads, Virginia, where the layered histories and shifting skies continue to shape my vision. The landscape here reminds me that transformation is constant-light fades, tides move, clouds pass-yet beauty endures in what remains. That rhythm echoes in my photographs, where simplicity reveals depth and stillness becomes it’s own form of power.
Through this work, I hope to offer a quiet but insistent perspective within the larger chorus of Black artistry. My images speak to the possibility of finding meaning in what is often overlooked, and to the strength of imagination expressed in subtle, lasting ways.”
