The City of Whittier Art in Public Places Committee is seeking an artist to commission an illuminated art piece on Whittier Blvd. The art should be designed appropriately for the site given and functionally fit the dimensions in a way in which the public will visually interpret the piece on-site while driving or walking by.

The site is at the corner of a busy highway across from the newly redeveloped area in Whittier called The Groves.

The site is approximately 127ft at its longest part, by 39 ft at its widest part. It is a long and narrow parcel of land with a concrete rectangle at the Northwest side of the parcel. It has electrical access as it used to hold a sign that pointed towards Uptown Whittier. The current brick and concrete foundation can be removed.

The current budget for this project is $250,000.

Request for Qualifications – Colorado State University, Veterinary Health & Education Complex
Qualifications are requested from artists interested in creating artworks for the Veterinary Health and Education Complex at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Multiple artworks will be commissioned and the total funding available is up to $325,000.

The total budget of $325,000 will be split between multiple commissions, in amounts to be determined. There is potential for a single artist to create artwork in multiple locations to create connections between spaces in the building. Due to the number of locations and budget size, not all locations will be chosen; final locations will depend on the type and strength of the submissions received.

The committee is interested in artworks that address what is happening in the building, with a focus on the partnerships and relationships between people and animals. Media of all types will be considered, as well as artworks in a variety of styles. Due to maintenance considerations, artwork incorporating lighting, water, or interactive technology is not of interest for this project. All wall-mounted artwork should meet ADA requirements. The first floor of the building will be public facing, as it will be used to access veterinary care; floors two and three will be utilized by students, faculty and other staff.

Please see below for a description of each location:

Location 1 is three dividing walls in the waiting area of the veterinary clinic, located on the first floor of the building. This area will be utilized by members of the public when they visit the facility to access care for their pets. One side of each of the walls will have monitors but the reverse side of all three walls will be available for artwork.

Location 2A – 2C are multiple walls to the left of the main atrium staircase on floors 1, 2 and 3. This is a potential opportunity for a single artist to create a series of artworks that create a sense of wayfinding in the building by addressing all three of these locations as a unit (i.e., 2A, 2B, 2C).

Location 3 is a floor-mounted sculptural opportunity in a first floor seating area.

Location 4 is a large two-part wall in the lobby area of the first floor.

Location 5 is a wall in the lobby area of the first floor, located across from Location 4. This location is adjacent to one of the main entries for students.

Location 6 is a wall in a hallway located between treatment rooms and the emergency room on the first floor.

Location 7 is a wall to the left at the top of the main atrium staircase on the second floor.

Location 8 is a wall to the left at the top of the main atrium staircase on the third floor.

Location 9 is a wall in the corridor across from Location 8 on the third floor.

Location 10 is a wall in the corridor on the third floor.

Location 11 is a wall at an entrance to the auditorium space on the third floor.

Location 12 is a ceiling and three-floor volume space. The committee is excited for the potential of a hanging artwork that highlights this open area and would be visible from multiple floors. Two hanging points can be accommodated to support the hanging artwork, each capable of supporting 500lbs.

Location 13 is an exterior location in the building’s outdoor classroom. This area has a covered structure. Please note that this location has not been rendered or modeled, so no images are available below.

Location 14 is a sculptural location option on the exterior of the building located next to an exterior patio space.

The commissioned artwork will serve as the centerpiece of the Civil Rights Rooms within the Oliver B. Spellman Library, embodying the rich legacy and ongoing pursuit of civil rights and social justice.

The selection committee is open to various artistic interpretations and emphasizes artistic excellence and technical ability over a specific medium. Artists may propose both 2D or 3D works, including but not limited to sculpture, mixed-media installations, stained glass or light-based works, kinetic or interactive art, murals or painted panels, and mosaic compositions.

Call for Art: Aurora Central Rec Park/Plaza, CO

Plans are currently in progress to create a 14-acre community park featuring a playground, tennis and pickleball courts, a basketball court, picnic shelters, restrooms, a plaza area, open space, and a wetland designed to attract migratory birds and wildlife, complete with a pedestrian bridge. Nestled in the arid landscape along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, the park will be framed by a stunning natural backdrop. Several potential locations within the park have been identified for the inclusion of artwork.

The artwork could expand upon the exploration of movement initiated in the earlier artwork in a variety of ways such as integrating kinetic elements with movement generated by the wind (which is prevalent) or by human engagement, but this is not a requirement. The artwork should complement the surrounding landscape and natural environment that is highly valued by the neighborhood and wildlife and should not impede the view of the mountains.

The mission of Aurora’s Art in Public Places Program is to capture the pulse of the community by contributing to neighborhood development, economic vitality, and engaging the many voices of Aurora through arts and culture.

Large Scale Interactive Art Installation Rental
This initiative aims to enhance placemaking, foster community engagement, and elevate Virginia Beachʼs profile as a destination for innovative public art.

Artists/companies must carry insurance for the duration of the project, be willing to meet all contractual obligations, adhere to a strict timeline, and are subject to a background check.

There is a $10 donation per image submission to participate, each donation is tax deductible and goes to producing the public art. Selected artists will be announced after April 28, 2025. Public art will be on view starting May 30, 2025 in New York, NY, and will be on view for at least one month.
The selected artists will also be exhibited at Satellite Gallery, 279 Broome St, NYC, with a one-night opening reception anniversary party on May 30, 2025, 6-9p.

The Mobile Arts Council is searching for an experienced artist or artist team to create a larger-than-life (7’O”) realistic representation of Jimmy Buffett with pedestal, or if sitting, with a bench or low wall. This sculpture will be installed at The National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico on the Mobile River.

At the conclusion of this preliminary RFP deadline, a maximum of five finalists will be invited to present more developed design proposals to the selection committee. Final design proposals will include a detailed narrative; additional design images; a finalized budget; a schedule and workplace for the fabrication, transportation, and installation of the work; a conceptual layout; and information on quality standards in case of repairs. All applicants will be contacted with the committee’s choices from Phase I by May 9th, 2025. Applicant finalists will be compensated $1,000 for their efforts.

The Louisiana Percent for Art Program invites professional artists and artist teams to submit their qualifications for the creation of an original, site-specific artwork for the atrium of the new Student Success Center at Louisiana State University Alexandria (LSUA). This state-of-the-art facility will be a vibrant hub for student-centered services and a symbol of LSUA’s commitment to fostering academic achievement and career readiness.
This commission is open nationally to professional artists 18 and over. Proposals are not required at this time.

The Lakkos Artist Residency is a base for creatives to explore an authentic Greece city and a wonderful Greek island. The residency has just relocated to a new location that like the previous one needs a bit of an art injection. It’s a small area in Heraklion’s Old Town that time has not touched.

There are a couple of city beaches within walking distance. There is no obligation to put on a presentation at the end of an artist’s stay but if desired we often have one-night-only shows.

Duration of residency: Minimum two weeks

Open to artists internationally

All creative people are welcome to apply for a stay at the residency. The residency can accommodate a maximum of 2 artists (partners possible on request) at one time. The amount of time stayed is flexible but should be no shorter than two weeks. In winter two small dogs and a cat sometimes stay in the downstairs apartment. The Menokin Foundation in Warsaw, VA is seeking artists to propose & create a temporary art installation that revolves around the theme of self-emancipation.
Proposed artwork meant for outdoors or indoors will be accepted. Wall panel space available for artists whose work is meant for indoors: T 3 panels ~78 inches in width and ~82 inches in height.
Menokin defines “self-emancipation” as an act where one exerts autonomy over their lives under oppressive circumstances.
A two-part honorarium totaling $1,000 will be awarded

Professional visual artists or artist teams at least 18 years of age are eligible. Artists residing in Erie County and Western New York are eligible to apply. In addition, artists living outside these areas who can demonstrate significant ties to Buffalo, Western New York, Orchard Park, and/or the Buffalo Bills in their Letter of Interest are also eligible to apply.
Demonstrated experience creating commissioned public art and working with diverse community stakeholders is desired.

The Buffalo Bills Public Art Program seeks to commission professional visual artists, or artist teams, to create site-specific public artwork(s) at (new) Highmark Stadium. This artwork will be thematic, public-facing, and part of the permanent collection at the stadium.
