Virginia Van Horn is a local artist and instructor of the Visual Arts Program at the Governor’s School for the Arts in Norfolk, VA. Virginia received a BFA in printmaking from UNC, Chapel Hill and an MFA in Sculpture through an ODU/Norfolk State University joint program. Virginia completed post-graduate work at the School of Visual Arts in Urbino, Italy. Virginia’s large-scale sculptures most often incorporate animal images, human artifacts and found furniture. Large mixed-media sculptures created for her “Home and Away” exhibition, were accompanied by paper relief sculptures that were illuminated by neon.
