Since 2000, Argentine-born artist Cecilia Lueza has been working on a variety of public art projects in many cities throughout the United States. Her work has been exhibited at Art Miami, Arteamericas, and Scope Miami Beach, and she has completed public art projects in Washington DC, Jacksonville FL, Cedar Rapids IA, and St Petersburg FL among others.
Members of the community were given a survey to express what they’d most like to see represented in the two ocean view murals. Cecilia used those results to develop her two mural designs depicting elements of nature familiar to the area such as the many Live Oak trees nearby and a variety of birds often flying over head along the Norfolk, VA oceanfront.
