Join Norfolk Arts grantee, Norfolk Chamber Consort’s Alex DeSocio
Described by The New York Times as having a “buttery, booming baritone,” Alex DeSocio (Wichita, KS), received his BM from Northwestern University and his MM at the University of Maryland. Alex has worked in many regional opera companies as a principal artist including, Fort Worth Opera, Pensacola Opera, Anchorage Opera, Opera Memphis, Livermore Valley Opera, Castleton Festival, Opera Santa Barbara, and the Pacific Opera Project. Awards include being a 2 Time-Metropolitan Council Audition Semi-Finalist, Winner/Laureate with the Queen Elisabeth Competition.

Neighborhood Jam with the Muse Writer’s Center
Everyone is welcome to make music, sing, read, laugh, or just hang out and listen. This is not an open mic with a sign-up list. The Muse Jam is more fun! We’ll alternate between individual-led and collaborative performance and pure unplugged jams.
Who’s welcome? Anyone from beginners to professionals, whether you like to play an instrument or just listen, sing or be sung to, read your work or hear great stories and poems, practice your standup or improv or laugh yourself silly. Feel free to bring songbooks, sheet music, instruments, and friends.

Tidewater Classical Guitar invites all to attend their holiday inspired concert at First Lutheran Church, 1301 Colley Ave., Norfolk VA 23517.
The concert has become a staple of their season, bringing joy and togetherness for audiences and performers alike featuring the Tidewater Guitar Orchestra along with some of Hampton Roads’ most talented guitarists!
There will be a holiday reception with small bites and drinks immediately following the performance.

VA Chorale: Sing We Nowell
Celebrate the holidays with the Virginia Chorale! In honor of the 20th anniversary of NATO’s Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, the Chorale will perform carols and holiday favorites by composers from member countries, including France, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia, Norway, Spain, Poland, and the US. Ring in the holidays with this beloved holiday concert in Hampton Roads! Artistic Director Charles Woodward will conduct. Tickets for Sing We Nowell are $30 for adults, $20 for military and groups of 10 or more, and $10 for students.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Based on the beloved popular children’s book by Barbara Robinson, THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER is the funny, heartwarming, and mildly irreverent story of what happens when a church play is hijacked by six of the ‘absolutely worst kids in the history of the world’. A holiday tradition, this event is presented with Happy Hanukkah, My Friend; a short program celebrating the Festival of Lights.
