The Lafayette Neighborhood Branch Library in #norfolkva is seeking vibrant, uplifting artwork!
The chosen artist will be paid $2,000 to work with library staff and community members to create an original, one-of-a-kind piece of art measuring at least 6′ by 5′.
Artists can submit their resumes and 4-8 images of their drafts or past artwork with image keys including title, material, and year completed for review by a planning committee to ava.gonzalez@norfolk.gov by April 28.
Please include your name and “Painting” in subject line of the email. Finalists may be selected for interview prior to making the award.
The artist must be willing to sign a “Transfer of Title” document to grant the Lafayette Branch Library the right to photograph, video or record the likeness of the selected artwork for use by television, films, radio, printed media, etc. to further the aims of the library.
For more information, contact Ava Gonzalez at ava.gonzelz@norfolk.gov or Leigh-Ellen Treadwell at leigh-ellen.treadwell@norfolk.gov
