The Metropolitan Opera hosts “Nightly Met Opera Streams” on its official website to audiences worldwide. These free streams present encores of past performances from its famed Live in HD series from the past 14 years. The encore presentations begin at 7:30 p.m. each night.
Over 20 notable film festivals from around the world including Cannes and Sundance have joined together to stream movies free on YouTube. The move is part of the “We Are One: A Global Film Festival,” a 10-day event showcasing a selection of feature films, shorts, documentaries, music, comedy, and panel discussions.
Begins May 29 and runs until June 7.

Irish comic book artist Will Sliney started a Twitter challenge for school kids stuck at home, and due to overwhelming response, he’s started offering free art classes on YouTube, too. The University of California, Berkeley, is offering free Zoom art classes, among them DIY sculpture classes where garbage is upcycled into art. From paper clay sculptures to collages and homemade play dough, drawing teacher Vanessa Ditullio shows students how to make metallic bouquets from cut-up recycled cans.
