WATCH A VIDEO OF THE REVEAL

“Gratitude” by Jennifer Madden and Jeffrey Reed of Richmond, CA was unveiled 05/18. The 20ft. sculpture greets visitors to the Sentara Brock Cancer Center located at 6251 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. with a gesture of grace. The abstract form changes from every point of view. With imagination, one can see hands coming together, a ribbon, a leaf, an infinity symbol and more.

23 dichroic framed glass circles cascade like jewels, refracting light between strips of 10-inch-wide stainless steel. The artists hope this artwork, with its large scale and layered symbolism, will become a place to find both joy and serenity.

This Private Partnership match project was made possible with a $75,000 budget via Sentara and $25,000 from Norfolk Arts. Norfolk Arts continually seeks private developers to partner with to create public art in #norfolkva. Up to $25,000 is available. Contact: karen.rudd@norfolk.gov for more information.
