The Norfolk Arts Commission is offering a special grant to help small nonprofit arts organizations facing significant challenges. This one-time program provides practical assistance to help stabilize and strengthen organizations that have previously received Commission funding.
This partnership grant can help connect your organization with training opportunities or a consultant who can work with your board, staff, and/or volunteers to address key issues and build long-term sustainability and capacity.
Eligibility Criteria
Must be a nonprofit arts organization (IRS designation 501(c)(3))
Must have received Norfolk Arts Commission funding in the current or a past fiscal year
Must have an annual operating budget of $150,000 or less
Grant Amounts and Deadlines
Grants will be awarded in amounts ranging from $2,000 to $5,000
No cash or in-kind match is required
Application deadline: February 13, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
Eligible Uses of Funds
Hiring a temporary consultant or part-time staff with expertise in nonprofit arts administration (consultants typically charge between $75 to $150/hour)
Financial review and planning
Board engagement and leadership recruitment
Sustainability planning
Succession Planning
Temporary administrative support help with (grant writing, bookkeeping, database work, etc.)
